Two Scots children who were reported missing after failing to show up for school have been traced “safe and well”.
Police were contacted after Michael and James O’Brien were dropped off at Carnethie Street in Rosewell, Midlothian, at about 8am on Thursday morning – but did not go into their school.
A large-scale operation was launched to trace them.
At about noon Midlothian Police posted: “We are pleased to report Michael and Jamie O’Brien, missing from Rosewell this morning, have been traced safe and well.
“We would like to thank members of the public and our partners who shared information and assisted us with inquiries.”
