Kirkcaldy’s fastest man has slowed things down to zero for a bit of fun ahead of a massive weekend in the World Endurance Championship.

Two-time British GT champion Jonny Adam will start Saturday’s Six Hours of Bahrain from pole position in the #97 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE after he and teammate Darren Turner set identical lap times in qualifying.

But after blitzing the pole lap, Fifer Adam joined the rest of the Aston Martin crew to take part in the latest craze sweeping the internet, with a mannequin challenge in the Bahrain International Circuit pits at Sakhir.

Adam, who made history with back to back British GT titles after a 2016 championship with TF Sport this season said the no go challenge was a bit of fun, but he can’t wait to get down to business on track.

“It’s good to be back in Bahrain and the car has been getting better throughout the weekend,” he said.

“The car feels really strong, particularly on the longer runs and we’ll be looking to fight for victory in Saturday’s race.”

Danish pair Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen sealed an Aston Martin lockout of the front row to give the team confidence going into the showdown.

Aston Martin can still capture all five GT championships on offer, including the overall GT manufacturer’s title.
