British Transport Police are investigating reports of a sex pest on a late night Scotrail service.
Officers want to hear from witnesses amid claims that a male passenger made “sexually inappropriate” comments to a woman on the first class section of the 9.53pm Edinburgh Waverley to Perth train.
He then attempted to kiss her.
Another passenger sent a text to transport police using the discreet reporting service – number 61016 – and officers met the train at Haymarket, its next stop.
The suspect was removed and his details were taken.
The incident happened on Friday, April 14.
A police spokesman said: “To assist with this investigation, officers are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch. If you were on board this service and witnessed a man acting in an usual manner towards a woman, please get in touch.”
Witnesses are urged to text 61016 or call 0800 405040, quoting incident reference 583.
