Police have named a woman who died following a crash on a Perthshire road.
Jeannette Brechin, 64, was killed in the crash on the B951 Cray to Brewlands Bridge Road, near its junction with the A93 Perth to Glenshee route, at about 12.30am on Sunday, January 27.
She hailed from Duns.
Her Kia Sorento left the the B951 at Lair.
A Tayside Police Division statement reads: “Police Scotland can confirm that a woman who died as a result of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle on B951 near A93 on Sunday, January 27 has been formally named.
“She has been named as 64-year-old Jeannette Brechin from Duns, Scottish Borders.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.”
Following the crash at the weekend Ms Brechin’s black lab puppy Blu ran away, sparking an appeal to trace her.
She was finally found after a police post on the missing pup was shared more than 1,000 times on social media.
Beth Thompson, a friend of the woman said: “I’ve just been told I’m crying with happiness. A huge thank you to everyone for their search efforts, I’m amazed and truly grateful at the community efforts and so are the family.
“My friend who died in the accident would be so happy her dogs are safe, they were her world.”
