The No. 60163 Tornado was made famous following appearances in the hit movie Paddington 2 and TV show Top Gear.

It is one of its first trips following the launch of The Aberdonian’s new route from Edinburgh through the north-east.

The Aberdonian steam engine was travelling through Courier country on it’s way to Aberdeen today.

The Aberdonian passed through Courier country to much fanfare from rail enthusiasts in March of this year.

And locals will be able to catch a glimpse of it once again on Thursday evening.

According to the website Rail Advent is due to depart Aberdeen on its return trip just before 6pm before passing through stations in Angus, Dundee, Perth and Fife before arriving back in Edinburgh.

The full list of times/locations it will pass through can be viewed below:

Note: these are approximate timings and can be subject to change. For up-to-date arrival information click here.

The Tornado is owned by Darlington-based A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.

The Aberdonian is made up of heritage carriages and provides travellers with a nostalgic experience harking back to the heyday of rail.

The trust is also currently building a new Class P2 locomotive, No. 2007 Prince of Wales, which historically hauled passenger trains between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

The Aberdonian will run again on August 8 and 31; and on September 7.
