Forfar JAC members Jamie Houston, Andrew Beattie and Bruce Keillor get stuck in at Webster's High School in Kirriemuir.

Young farmers from Forfar JAC worked hard over the weekend to clear a school garden ready for the term re-starting.

Three of the group’s members undertook tasks at Webster’s High School in Kirriemuir ahead of the August reopening.

The main aim of their garden is to get pupils involved in crop growth and management, and this is something we hope we can help with.

Loiis Scott said: “Although we can’t hold meetings the club has still been able to find ways in which we can support the community.

“This morning three of our members went along to Webster’s High School to help clear their garden for the new term starting in August.

“The school are hoping to set up a rural skills project that allows the pupils to get involved with things including crop growth and management, animal handling and various other outdoor skills.

“This is something we hope we can help with in future.

“Normally for things like this we have a keen team of members ready to get involved. However, due to the current restrictions we had to select 3 members to go along and do the work at a safe 2m distance.”
