A man has been injured in an industrial accident in Brechin.
Police remain in attendance at the scene in premises at East Mill Road.
The extent of the man’s injuries are unknown but an air ambulance was seen at the location on Monday afternoon.
The accident happened in a large unit close to the Matrix factory.
At least 15 police vehicles reportedly rushed to the scene at 3pm, alongside an incident response unit, two fire appliances, a road ambulance and an air ambulance.
Police remain at the sceneThe Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed they were called at around 3pm to assist the ambulance and police on the scene.
One onlooker said the presence was centred around the car park close to the factory of electro-magnetic brake manufacturer Matrix International.
He said the air ambulance left the scene at around 4.20pm.
Large-scale emergency response
A local resident said: “I was walking out of the Matrix car park and then all of these police turned up, as well as an ambulance and an incident response unit and two fire engines.
“There were at least 15 police vehicles. It looks like they’ve brought every available vehicle in.
“Police were keeping people away from the scene but there’s quite a few members of the public down there – it’s attracted a big crowd.
“Everyone was gathered in the Matrix car park and the police were just moving them on.
“Nothing like this happens very often in Brechin.
“The air ambulance left at around 4.20pm. It looked like they struggled to land for a while.
“I’m don’t know exactly what’s going on but it doesn’t look good – it’s scary.”
Another eyewitness said: “The incident happened in a building round the back of where I work, not far from the Matrix car park.
“I only heard later that something had happened. It seems to have been a bad incident.
“People have been talking about it a fair bit since it happened.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Monday, March 14, police were called to a premises on East Mill Road, Brechin, following reports of a man being injured.
“Emergency services remain at the scene.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We got the call at 3pm to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service and police.
“We have two appliances in attendance.”
