A passenger involved in a crash in Montrose has told of the moment the stationary car they were in collided with another vehicle.
The accident – involving a Suzuki Jimny and a Vauxhall Corsa – happened at around 11.45am on Sunday morning at the John Street junction of Provost Scott’s Road.
Police and ambulance were in attendance after the Suzuki ended up on its side.
‘The car just clipped us’
The passenger in the Vauxhall told The Courier: “We came down the street beside the dentist and stopped like we’re supposed to.
“There was a van parked at the junction so it’s difficult to see.
“This car from about 50 yards away came down the road. It was on my side so I see this thing coming towards me and I got my friend to put the brakes on.
“The car just clipped us but enough for their car to start spiralling.
“I looked across and saw the driver trying his best to get a grip but he was never going to be able to control it and the motor rolled over on to its side.
“Lucky enough the window had smashed so they [the driver and passenger] were able to climb out.
“The driver seemed to be in shock but things calmed down.
“We were fine and there are no major injuries. A man phoned the police and ambulance who turned up to tend to them.
“We had our details taken down and asked if the car was driveable which it is, so we were fine to go.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 11.45am on Sunday October 23, officers were called to a report of a crash involving two vehicles on Provost Scott’s Road, Montrose.
“Emergency services are at the scene.”
