Police are chasing a man who distracted an elderly lady before swiping money from her purse in Dundee city centre.
The 76-year-old woman was approached outside St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday by a man she did not know, who asked her if she had change of a £1 coin.
When she opened her purse to look, he distracted her attention and took a quantity of notes from her purse without her seeing.
Police say she only discovered the theft some time later.
Officers would like to trace a man described as in his 30s, of Eastern European appearance with black hair, who was quite smartly dressed and wearing a black jacket.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 101 or speak with any police officer.
