A 26-year-old driver has suffered serious injuries after colliding with traffic lights and railings on a busy Dundee road.
The male is currently receiving treatment in Ninewells Hospital after the Ford Focus RS he was driving crashed on Forfar Road near the Shell petrol station at around 2.30am on Sunday morning.
The area around Forfar Road and the Kingsway was closed for a period and the incident caused tailbacks on Sunday morning as more drivers took to the roads.
The road has since reopened.
Police say the man’s condition is described as stable.
He has been arrested and charged with road traffic offences and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
