An elderly man has died after plunging from a flat window in Dundee.
It’s understood the man fell from a third-floor window in Lyon Street shortly before 6pm on Saturday evening.
Shopkeeper Mohammed Younes told The Courier: “Someone came into the shop and told me there was a body lying in the street.
“Police and an ambulance came and were there till about half past nine.
“The police cordoned off the area and were looking up at the window.”
Police confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland attended at Lyon Street at 5.50pm on Saturday May 14 following the sudden death of a 76 year old man.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
It was the second such tragedy in a matter of days in Dundee. On Thursday, an elderly woman died after apparently falling from a window in Wishart Place.
