A Dundee-born  hockey player has been ranked among the world’s ten most desirable men.

Tristan Harper, from Broughty Ferry, fought off competition from hundreds of model types to be crowned Mr Scotland before representing the country in the Mr World pageant.

He missed out on the title – which went to India’s Rohit Khandelwald – during the finals on Tuesday, but was “thrilled” to be one of the top ten.

Tristan was among the top 10 Mr World finalists.

The 28-year-old, who plays for Braehead Clan in Glasgow, said: “I’m heading back to Scotland now, after being in Southport for the finals.

“I’ll be coming back to Dundee to see my friends, I can’t wait.

“It was disappointing not to be Mr World, but I did make it to the top 10 which is still a great achievement.

“I also won awards for various extreme challenges, in which we were tested on our sports and physical abilities, social skills and cooking skills.

“It’s not just about looking good!

“I met some amazing guys and had great fun, and also learned a lot.

“Hopefully I can use my Mr Scotland title to continue doing charity and environmental work.”

When not on the ice or modelling, Tristan enjoys hiking and work in the sustainability sector.

He dreams of being a professional mountaineer one day.

And despite missing out on Mr World, we at the Courier still reckon he’s a top bloke.
