The first ever Dundee Hooley kicked off on Saturday, with crowds flocking to the city centre to join the fun.

The event, which has been set up as an early celebration of St Andrew’s Day, is the first to be held in Dundee.

Despite the poor weather, attendees gathered in the city to watch the Dundee Hooley parade as it passed through.

Visitors were also able to take part in a ceilidh with traditional Scottish music.

Our photographer Alan Richardson was there to get all the best pictures.

Visitors took part in Scottish country dancing.
Attendees were able to enjoy live music.
Crowds gathered in the city centre for the event.
Hooley visitors weren’t put off by the bad weather.
