Jim McCormack, 85, has been growing the plants for a quarter of a century. In that time, Jim has never seen so many cacti bloom at the same time. The “unusual” feat has seen Jim’s house become a “show home” to intrigued members of the public. Jim explained: “I’ve never seen a display like that in all my years of growing cactus. “It’s an occasion when one flowers, but to get this many is quite something. It is most unusual. “What has amazed me is the people coming up. My house has been like a show home.” Sadly, Jim’s impressive display has been short-lived as some of the flowers have begun to wilt and die. However, his success has made him popular with neighbours and passers-by. Jim said: “People walking by on the pavement can see into my greenhouse. “It’s been amazing the amount of people who have asked if they can come in and have a look. I’m delighted. “People have asked me what I give the plants, but in a nutshell, it’s just luck.” For more photos, click here.
