Locals have been left shocked after a man died after being shot by an arrow on a Dundee street.
The man, named locally as Gordon Adams and also known as Gordon Robert Diduca, 24, was killed following the disturbance at Dundonald Court, on Arklay Street, on Sunday evening at about 11.45pm.
Police have closed off the streets around the building as they probe the scene, with forensics teams scouring the area for evidence.
They are treating the incident as “suspicious”.
Neighbours say there had been a loud party in a flat in the building but that at around 10.50pm the incident spilled on to Arklay Street and across the road to Fairbairn Street.
Locals described watching police descend on the scene last night.
One local woman said she was worried it was “not even safe to go out” in the area following the incident.
She added: “We saw the flashing blue lights and police cars. They were racing down, we saw them all dashing down. I thought this was a good area.”
Arklay Street resident Scott Russell described seeing officers searching the streets late last night.
He added: “There would have been five or six police cars going up and down Arklay Street.
“There was no sirens and that when I saw them. I thought it must have been something to do with the football earlier.
“The police were going up and down. They were going both directions obviously looking for someone still.”
One local man added: “It was a bow and arrow apparently. We were just watching TV and that and saw the police and heard people going on about it.”
A police spokesman said they are following a “positive line of inquiry”.
A statement from the force added: “Police Scotland can confirm that a man has died following a disturbance at Dundonald Court in Dundee yesterday (Sunday, September 24) at around 11.45pm.
“The death is being treated as suspicious and officers are following a positive line of inquiry.
“No further details will be released until formal identification has taken place. Next of kin have been informed.”
