Industrial action that was due to ground all flights at Dundee airport on June 12 has been called off.
The strike was to be the second day of industrial action by union Prospect over a pay dispute.
But the strike has been delayed for the time being after a further offer from Highland and Island Airport Ltd (Hial).
Air traffic controller officers (ATCOs) in other airports — including Inverness, Stornoway and Kirkwall — were also expected to go on strike on the day.
Inglis Lyon, Hial managing director, said: “Following consideration of a further proposal from Hial, Prospect has advised it has suspended strike action planned for June 12.
“The proposal recognises the skills of our ATCOs and the importance of delivering air traffic management services for the future and is within the flexibility granted by the Scottish Government to examine a retention allowance ATCOs
“We are pleased Prospect has taken the decision to suspend strike action to allow consultation on our offer to take place. During the period of consultation, Prospect has advised the work to rule will remain in place.
“Our aim is to resolve this dispute as soon as possible as we will, of course, continue to engage with Prospect as it consults members on our proposal.”
