A man has died after falling from the Clackmannanshire Bridge earlier today (Friday).
Emergency services were called to the bridge following reports of concern for the safety of a man at around 12.40pm.
The RNLI lifeboat crew from Queensferry was called out to assist, and an air ambulance was also summoned to the scene while the bridge was closed to traffic for some time.
The man was pulled from the Firth of Forth and rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital but was pronounced dead there shortly afterwards.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland were called at 12.40pm on Friday, November 6 after reports of a man in the water at Clackmannshire Bridge.
“He was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where he died a short time later.
“His next of kin have been informed and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
