The Courier’s photographer was on hand to capture the carnage as 5 Star Wrestling rolled into Dundee Ice Arena for a televised wrestling exhibition.

The event, titled Dominant Wrestling and broadcast live on Spike TV, received glowing tributes from fans on social media.

Mainstream wrestlers Rey Mysterio (formerly of WWE), Drew Galloway and Carlito all delighted supporters.

Promoter Dan Hinkles said: “It went really nicely. There were far more there than I expected. I don’t have the official figures yet, but I’m fairly sure we broke the 2000 mark.

Dominant Wrestling will begin a 30 week tour on June 10.

In what transpired to be a huge night for the sport in Dundee, Ardler Complex hosted a sold out event promoted by city regulars SWE Wrestling on the same night, featuring popular Scottish grapplers Grado and Bravehart.
