A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Kirkcaldy petrol station.
Officers sealed off the Shell station on the town’s Hendry Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The scene remained behind police tape throughout the morning and glass had been smashed on a door panel.
Police announced at 1.25pm a 26-year-old man had been arrested.
They said no one had been hurt but a three-figure sum of cash was stolen. Investigations are ongoing but no one else is being sought.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Cunningham said: “Our enquiries are continuing and we would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 quoting reference 257 of 11/02 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
Two police officers remained stationed outside the premises during the day, with the forecourt sealed off.
A police dog team is also understood to have been in attendance.
