A drive-in singing event in Kinross has been given the green light to take place this weekend.

Organised by Natalie Garry, who runs danceSing classes in her Dunblane studio, the event is set to take place on Saturday evening between 6pm and 9pm at Loch Leven’s Larder.

DanceSing, known as “the choir that keeps you fit”, has held singing and dancing sessions on Facebook Live during lockdown after the studio was forced to temporarily close its doors to members.

This is the first time the company has held such an event.

Ms Garry said: “Our organised event with Loch Leven’s Larder is a great opportunity for us to re-connect socially, but within the safety of our social ‘bubbles’.

“There is a real positive vibe for the event and the uptake of tickets has been strong.

“We are all adapting and exploring new ways to connect.

“It is possible to stay connected socially but safely and following public health guidelines.”

She added: “We don’t know when studio based group singing will be allowed to start up again. In fact our indication is that it will be one of the last social activities to return.

“We have been flooded with positive messages from our amazing members telling us that danceSing has been, and continues to be a real ‘lifeline’ for them.”

DanceSing’s Music Director Lindsay Ashworth Fraser will be leading the drive-in session with a compilation of a range of music.

Emma Niven of Loch Leven’s Larder said the team are “delighted” to have been chosen as the event’s location.

She told The Courier: “It’s great to be able to use our wonderful location for this event, which lets everyone have a really fun, sociable evening whilst staying safe.

“We’re delighted to host the Dance-sing Sing Along.”

Tickets for the event cost £22 per person and can be purchased on the Loch Leven’s Larder website.
