Perth and Kinross will honour those killed in conflict with a series of poignant services throughout the area.
War veterans and dignitaries will attend a short remembrance service at the 51st Highland Memorial at the North Inch, Perth, on Friday at 10am.
Provost Liz Grant will attend along with councillors, the military representatives and veterans associations.
Later on Friday morning, the Provost will also attend Poppyscotland’s act of remembrance at the Mercat Cross on King Edward Street, Perth.
She will lay a poppy wreath and observe a two minute silence at 11am.
On the same day there will be a remembrance service at Perth’s Bowerswell House conducted by the new minister of Kinnoull Parish Church, Reverend Graeme Crawford.
Guests are requested to be seated by 10.30am with a two minute silence following at 11am.
On Sunday, one of the biggest Remembrance events across the area will take place in Perth.
The traditional civic Remembrance Sunday parade will feature the Provost, councillors, council officers and members of the High Constables of the City of Perth.
Led by Perth and District Pipe Band, the parade will leave from outside 2 High Street, Perth, at 10.25 am and proceed to St John’s Kirk for the service of remembrance via King Edward Street and North St Johns Place.
The military parade comprising local veterans, representatives of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and local cadets will assemble at Thimblerow car park off the Old High Street at 10am and will then march through the city centre to the Kirk, before the church service begins at 10.45am.
The parade will return to the High Street after the service via North St Johns Place, St John Street and High Street.
It will then march off via St Johns Place, King Edward Street, South Street and Tay Street.
The salute will be taken at the viewpoint at the junction of Tay Street and High Street.
Representatives of the Royal Navy, the 51st Highland Regiment and the Royal Air Force will be present.
Following the Remembrance Service in St John’s Kirk, Dr Ian Cassells, the Perth city carillonneur, will give a free public recital at 12 noon on the bells of St John’s Kirk.
The recital will focus on marches and popular music from both the time of both World Wars.
A parade and service of remembrance has been organised by the Blairgowrie Branch of Legion Scotland at the Wellmeadow on Sunday.
The parade will form in Brown Street and march off at 12.20pm along the High Street, Allan Street, Wellmeadow, on to the Gas Brae entrance to the war memorial.
The service and laying of wreaths will begin at 12.30pm and around 1pm the parade will return to Brown Street by the reverse route.
Blairgowrie will also have a short ceremony at the war memorial on Friday with a two minute silence observed at 11am.
Provost Liz Grant said: “At this time of year it’s important for us all to commemorate and give thanks to those men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf during both world wars and all subsequent conflicts.”
