An investigation has been launched after a large hay bale was set alight at a Perthshire farm.
Two appliances from Perth were called to Balmalcolm Farm in Kinrossie after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received a 999 call at around 9.50pm on Friday night.
The caller suggested that around 100 hay bales had been set on fire, although a SFRS spokesperson said it had been “one large square bale of straw”.
Firefighters found the hay bale well alight and used beaters to contain the fire while protecting the surrounding area.
A crew was expected to be at the scene into the early hours of the morning to monitor the controlled burn.
No-one was injured in the blaze, which is thought to have been started deliberately.
