A man has been rushed to hospital with “serious” injuries following an early morning single vehicle accident in east Perthshire.
Accident investigators are still at the scene and the A984 Meikleour to Dunkeld Road remains closed in both directions.
Police officers are diverting traffic away from the stretch between the Carsie Road junction and the B947 Spittalfield road.
Anyone travelling in the area is asked to take extra care and seek alternative routes.
Police Scotland said: “Officers attended at the A984 Meikleour to Dunkeld Road at 3.30am after a road traffic collision involving one vehicle.
“A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
The man had to be cut free from his vehicle by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.
He was then passed into the care of paramedics who rushed him to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where he continues to receive care.
It is understood the man was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
