There was drama in Perth on Thursday evening after a man got into difficulty in the River Tay close to the North Inch.
Multiple emergency crews, including paramedics, fire and rescue teams and police officers, attended at the scene shortly after 5pm.
One onlooker said the drama lasted for around half an hour, adding: “It seemed like some guy was fishing in the river but didn’t want to come back over.
“There was a stand-off but eventually he did come back of his own free will.”
A police spokesman said the man had “suffered some kind of medical issue” and was checked over by paramedics following the incident.
