Perth city centre could be home to a new Disney Store in a matter of months.
St John’s Shopping Centre revealed on Wednesday that a shop selling toys and other merchandise from the animation giant’s string of hit movies will soon be established in the former Topshop site.
Though the opening date has not yet been officially announced, it is understood the store could open in the summer.
Disney is already on the lookout for staff in Perth.
St John’s Shopping Centre said: “Disney has just announced that they are bringing a new store to St John’s Shopping Centre, Perth.
“They are currently recruiting for cast members to work in their Perth store. Applications are now being accepted.
“I think we all know a few little (and big) kids that will delighted with this news!”
Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart welcomed the news.
He said: “I am pleased to welcome Disney to Perth and I am sure that their store will be a welcome addition to the shopping centre.
“The creation of jobs is obviously very welcome and I am certain that children and adults alike will appreciate not having to travel to Glasgow or Edinburgh to experience the magic of Disney.”
It comes after the Dundee Disney Store closed last year.
