Stuart Malcolm admits it will be a special day for him today when he walks out at Station Park as manager.
However, the former Forfar player insists he will only really enjoy the occasion if his players can get a victory over visitors Peterhead.
They go into the game in fine fettle, having secured a precious point with a goalless draw against Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park on Tuesday night.
That result brought to an end a seven-game losing streak in both cup and league.
Now the hope is that the, albeit modest, momentum can take them through this afternoon’s League One clash with the Blue Toon.
Malcolm said: “I am really looking forward to what will be my first home game as manager.
“Obviously, I will only really be able to really enjoy it if we win.
“The great thing is that we are going into the Peterhead match on the back of a really good performance against Raith in midweek.
“I saw bits and bobs that we had been working on in training coming out in that match on Tuesday night and that was really encouraging for me as manager.
“If there is one thing that we can improve on then it is the decision-making in the final third.
“Maybe that has come from a lack of confidence because of how results had been going but we can do better.”
The Loons will be without midfielder Jordan Kirkpatrick, who suffered a knee injury against Rovers and had to be replaced.
Malcolm added: “He will be a big loss to us and it looks like he could be injured for a couple of weeks.”
