Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan will have to reshape his attack against visitors Stenhousemuir as he is without the banned trio of Kris Renton, David Cox and Robbie Buchanan.
Renton, who was sent off late on against Brechin City last weekend, would have missed the game anyway as it was discovered after the match that he had fractured a cheekbone.
Nevertheless, his absence leaves Bollan short of options up front.
Bollan said: “We had known that David and Robbie would be missing this one for a couple of weeks so we had prepared for that.
“Losing Kris, however, means that we are short up in attack but the players that come in have to view it as an opportunity to show what they can do.
“We will come up with a plan to win the game and give guys the opportunity to stake a claim for a starting jersey.”
The Blue Brazil defeated the Warriors 3-0 back in September but Bollan is not reading too much into that one.
He explained: “Stenhousemuir have changed their manager since then with the vastly-experienced David Irons coming in for Colin McMenamin.
“David has reshaped the team and brought in a good few new players so it will be a very different game to the last one.
“For me, this game is all about bouncing back from a disappointing defeat and performance at Brechin City.
“We started the game well and then lost our way and got caught on the counter-attack twice in the first half.
“We could argue that their second goal was offside but that would be hiding the fact that we did not play well.
“We have been inconsistent in recent weeks and that needs to change.
“We are at home for this one, and usually play well there, so I am looking for us to go on another strong run.”
Whilst Cowdenbeath’s attacking threat may be blunted by the absence of Renton, Cox and Buchanan they look set to be stronger in defence with Fraser Mullen in line to return after his horrific arm injury and Kyle Miller available again after a back problem.
