Raith striker Ryan Stevenson will play in goal tonight against Ayr United at Somerset Park.
Rovers’ three keepers, Kevin Cuthbert, Aaron Lennox and Conor Brennan are all out injured.
The Kirkcaldy club have used all their emergency loans for the season and boss John Hughes had tried without success to sign a free agent including former Scotland, Celtic and Dundee stopper Rab Douglas before tonight’s game.
The club also approached the SPFL asking for the Championship clash to be postponed but their request was denied.
Now, Rovers have been forced to hand the goalie gloves to outfield player Stevenson for what is a vital game for the club who sit just four points ahead of second-bottom Ayr.
