Dundee United are set to open talks with MLS midfielder Dillon Powers.
The 28-year-old Texan, who was recently released by Orlando City, has impressed Tangerines manager Robbie Neilson in a trial spell.
He has been training with the Tannadice squad since last week and played in a closed-doors game.
Capped by the USA at under-18 and under-20 level, Powers was the MLS Rookie of the Year in 2013.
Courier Sport understands that sporting director Tony Asghar will now attempt to clinch a deal to make Powers a United player this month.
