Forfar manager Gary Bollan is asking his men to shake off their Irn-Bru Cup disappointment by rising to the challenge of facing a fourth full-time side in a row.
The Loons head to Raith Rovers four days after being defeated 2-1 by Ross County’s under-20 side.
Bollan, who was linked with the Rovers manager’s job in the summer, said: “We are straight into another tough game but we will look to bounce back.
“It has been a really demanding couple of weeks for the players as this will be the fourth consecutive game against a full- time side with a fair bit of travelling involved.
“We had Airdrie and then down to Ayr which was followed by our midweek trip to Dingwall. Now we are off to Kirkcaldy to face a side who were two divisions above us last season. It is another difficult game but it is one of those games that makes all the hard work in getting promoted worthwhile.”
Bollan added: “Raith are tipped to be title challengers along with Ayr and we showed last weekend at Somerset Park that we can compete.
“At Ross County in the first half we were not at our best but in the second half we were better. We mixed things up to create a bit of competition in the team and overall we are disappointed to go out.”
Powerful French central defender Rodrigue Nanitelamio has been added to the squad after international clearance was received from his last club in Bulgaria, with fellow new recruit Paddy Cregg expected to be involved again.
Bollan said: “Rodrique has been in for a while and we have been waiting for the paperwork. Paddy has great experience and he will be a real asset in this league once he is fully fit.”
