League Two leaders Forfar meet very familiar opponents when they pitch up at Meadowbank today to face Edinburgh City, with Station Park manager Gary Bollan determined that his side get back on top of their hosts.

Bollan said: “We started the season with a 3-2 win at Edinburgh City and this is now our fifth game against then so they are opponents that we know a lot about.

“That was a very hard fought for win and they have improved in every game since then.

“We drew with them twice before they knocked us out of the Scottish Cup the last time we faced each other. They are a capable side and they have shown that against a lot of teams now.”

Bollan is pleased that his men can continue to push towards the title as opposed to having the day off on a Scottish Cup weekend.

He said: “I want us to be playing regularly. The players want to play every week and we have that opportunity with this game. Of course it will be even better if we take full advantage by getting three points on board and keeping the advantage that we have.

“Last Saturday’s game against Stirling was a really hard one and we made it more difficult by starting slowly.

“However, hopefully that was a lesson for us that we cannot afford to not be switched on from the very first whistle.”

Experienced defender Eddie Malone has been snapped up by Bollan from Spartans, however Martyn Fotheringham is banned and Jim Lister is an injury doubt.
