Police have named the victim of an Angus road crash.
William Barclay died in the three -vehicle collision on the A94 Coupar Angus to Forfar road, near Eassie, on Friday.
The 68-year-old was from Brechin.
The force said its inquiries into the collision remain on-going.
A statement from Tayside Police Division reads: “Police Scotland can confirm the identity of the man who sadly died in a road traffic collision on the A94 near Eassie on Friday, February 15 as William Barclay (68) from Brechin.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
“Inquiries into the incident are continuing, and we would like to thank the members of the public who have come forward with information to assist our investigation.”
The crash took place at about 1.25pm on Friday and involved a red Ford Transit van, a black Renault Kangoo and a black Volkswagen Polo.
It happened at the A94’s junction to the Hatton of Eassie road.
The two other drivers suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the crash.
