A red-faced River Tay jet skier has escaped with just a ticking off for breaking lockdown rules. Police Scotland has confirmed the man was given a warning after having to be rescued from the river on Sunday afternoon. Local Coastguard officers alerted Broughty Ferry RNLI to the incident after the jet skier got into trouble around 3pm when his machine broke down. The jet skier was towed to safety by Broughty Ferry ILB. Pic: Vince Dorian. The stricken craft was towed to safety by the Broughty inshore lifeboat. Officers were waiting on shore and Police Scotland confirmed the jet skier was “spoken to” about the pandemic restrictions currently in place. It is the latest in a series of call-outs attended by local Coastguard and lifeboat teams since restrictions came into place in March.
