Tributes have been paid to a “much-loved” Grove Academy pupil who died this week after an illness.
Axel Clark, who was in third year at the Broughty Ferry school, died on Tuesday.
In a letter to parents, rector Graham Hutton said the Grove community had been left saddened by Axel’s death and outlined what help would be available to pupils.
He wrote: “We have spoken with Axel’s mum and offered her the heartfelt sympathy of our whole school community as well as any support or help we are able to give.
“Axel was a remarkable pupil full of determination, love, fun and kindness, a much-loved member of our school family.
“Our love and deepest condolences as a school go out to Axel’s family and friends.
“We have all been saddened by this event.
“For both young people and adults it is their naturally available network of family, friends, classmates and colleagues who can provide the most effective support and help.”

Mr Hutton added: “We have arranged for an educational psychologist to be available in school to support the young people.
“Should you or your young person feel the need for additional support please contact your young person’s guidance teacher in the first instance.”
The Grove Academy rector also confirmed plans to honour the late pupil’s memory at Grove in the future.
He added: “As we move forward, we will honour Axel’s memory within the school and will update you with our thoughts on this in due course.”
