Around 800 hard-as-nails competitors took on Scotland’s toughest obstacle race at Knockhill racing circuit in Fife.
The MacTuff challenge included diving into freezing quarry water from scaffolding and negotiating challenging terrain, mud and obstacles.
Hardy souls took part in events covering distances of 7k, 15k and 30k, with participants from all over the UK and Europe.
Billed as an event for “the thrill-seekers, the renegades and the adventurers”, the race is a test of physical strength and mental grit.
For groups or individuals aged 18 or over, it is also a qualifying event for the World, European and UK Obstacle Course Running Championships in 2020.
This year sees the challenge mark its fifth anniversary.
