A Fife dance school has created its own version of the toilet roll keepy-up challenge doing the rounds among football stars.
Dozens of pupils of Yvonne Gray Dance Studios helped to create the ‘toilet roll chain challenge’ which has been viewed thousands of times.
It shows clips of dancers edited together to appear like they are tossing a toilet roll to each other as they perform dance routines in their homes and gardens.
The four-minute film mimics lockdown Instagram posts by the likes of Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas kicking up a toilet roll as many times as they can.
Starting the socially-distanced sequence is professional dancer and choreographer, Ryan Jenkins, a talent scout for ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and friend of school director Yvonne Gray.
The film also includes performances by teachers and pupils’ relatives young and old, from a year-old brother to Yvonne’s 77-year-old dad Raymon Gray.
Yvonne said: “We saw footballers doing something similar and thought ‘we can do that’.”
Pupils were delighted that Ryan agreed to appear in their film.
Yvonne said: “We are trying to keep everyone positive and make sure their training doesn’t drop.
“Some of the children are very talented and they have had exams cancelled and all sorts of disappointment.”
The Cupar-based school normally runs around 100 classes a week and is now delivering its programme online.
Yvonne said: “We are trying to deliver classes not quite as normal but regular classes throughout the week.
“It was trial and error for the first couple of days but we have managed to iron it out to a perfect timetable for the time being.”
