Another group of Fife youngsters are racing ahead when it comes to building cars.
For the last six months The Glenwood Knights, a team of pupils from Glenwood High School have been designing and building their own kit car under the auspices of Greenpower Formula 24.
The events involve two 90 minute races at some of the best motorsport venues in the UK.
As well as racing, the teams are judged in additional categories.
All teams have the same motor and one pair of 12 volt batteries per race.
During the race at least three team members must drive the car, and up to six further members can act as pit crew.
Other than the motor and batteries the pupils are free to design using their own imagination, or build one of the kit cars available.
Third year pupils Katie Bisland, Demi Smith, Murren Watson, Shaun Taylor, Kirsty Laughlin, Daniel King and Elle Stott, supported by BRAG Enterprises and Glenwood staff  David Brownlee, Graeme Close and David Lumsden, headed to East Fortune for a day of racing.
With 12 teams from across the country taking part, the Glenwood team managed two first places – for its folio and in the newcomers category – as well as being placed second and third in two races, taking second overall.
