A man has been charged in connection with an alleged ram raid in Thornton last month.
The 25-year-old is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.
The arrest follows an incident at the Co-op on Thornton’s Main Street at 2.15am on May 17, when a stolen Ford Transit flatbed van was reversed into the premises, causing extensive damage.
An attempt was then made to steal the ATM from inside the building.
Detective Inspector Stewart Andrew of Glenrothes CID said officers had been liaising with Durham Constabulary as part of the inquiry.
“Officers have been following various lines of enquiry ever since this incident toook place,” he said.
“I want to thank local residents for their support throughout and reassure the community that we will use all resources at our disposal to investigate such incidents.”
