A large fire in woodland near Dalgety Bay has now been put out.
The fire broke out in an area of gorse and trees near the Braefoot Bay oil terminal located between Aberdour and Dalgety Bay on Saturday.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 2.38pm, on what was a very hot and dry day in Fife.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said four appliances, two from Dunfermline and one from Kirkcaldy and one from Lochgelly, were initially tackling the fire.
By later in the evening seven appliances were at the inaccessible scene, directly on the shoreline of the Forth.
An all terrain vehicle from Dunblane had also been sent.
The area affected, around 100m sq and to the south of a plantation of trees, was well alight.
Plumes of smoke could be seen in the blue skies above the coastal area.

Fire crews are using hoses and portable pumps as they work on containing the fire.
Luckily, there were no casualties.
However, the crews were hampered by the relative inaccessibility of the area.
Fire crews beat back the flames in the dense gorse and by Sunday morning only one appliance remained on the scene, checking in case any areas reignited.
That crew had returned to its station by around 9am.
