A freak accident at the end of a day’s fishing at Burntisland has ended up costing its owner dearly – as you can see from these pictures.
Visitors to the Fife town on Sunday morning could have been forgiven for rubbing their eyes in disbelief at the sight of a transit van in the Forth just yards from the shore, with the tide eventually taking its toll and completely submerging the vehicle at one point.
It is understood the van belongs to a man who had been out fishing on Saturday with his friend, but the van he was pulling a trailer on slipped off the jetty and back into the water.
His partner took to social media in a desperate bid to track down someone who was capable of pulling the van, trailer and boat out of the water before the tide came in, but it is thought thousands of pounds worth of damage has already been done.
