Large parts of Dundee have been affected by an electricity cut after agricultural machinery knocked down power lines.
Over 800 properties, including houses in Broughty Ferry, Barnhill and Monifieth, were all affected by the outage, which was first reported just before 11am.
Power disappeared from 23 postcode areas across the DD5 area of the city during the blackout.
Engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) arrived on the scene half an hour later and returned power to all properties by 14.40pm.
A spokesman for SSEN said the cause of the outage had been a fallen wire, knocked over by agricultural machinery.
It is understood the farmer was cultivating Brussels sprouts when the incident occurred.
Angry residents have claimed incidents like these are happening too often.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: “I live in Ferryfields and the number of power cuts we get is bordering on the farcical.
“These are brand new houses and you would expect the supply to a bit more reliable.
“There doesn’t seem to be any kind of logic behind the cuts either.
“Often it happens when the weather conditions are perfectly benign.
“I know on one occasion the power went off when some cows in field knocked a pylon out but surely that is not the kind of thing that happens too often.
“I am well aware losing your power for a few hours every few weeks is not exactly the end of the world but it is very frustrating — not least for those who work from home and need a reliable supply.”
