Police are probing an incident that saw two minibuses set on fire in Dundee city centre this morning (Saturday).
The blaze, which happened on Meadowside Lane, engulfed the street and the nearby Murraygate in smoke at around 10am.
Two fire engines were on the scene until 11.30pm and at least three police vehicles were also in attendance.
It has not yet been confirmed if the fire was suspicious, but officers are still in the area carrying out enquiries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 9.57am to report a minibus alight.
“It was two vehicles alight. We attended with two appliances to extinguish the fire with a hose reel, breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.”
No injuries were reported and nearby residential properties are not believed to have been affected.
A number of onlookers gathered on Commercial Street as the drama unfolded.
A member of staff from a nearby shop, who did not wish to be named, said: “A couple of customers came in and told us there was smoke going up behind Tesco’s.
“We had a look and that’s when we saw the fire crews arrive. I just hope everyone is OK.
“Dundee is only a small city but there has been so much going on recently.”
