It is “business as usual” at NHS Fife following Friday’s global cyber attack.
The board said it was operating normally following work to contain the malicious programme known as ransomware which has affected IT systems across NHS Scotland and NHS England.
The advice given is that patients should attend for appointments as normal.
Chief Executive Paul Hawkins said: “Although we have seen evidence of contamination in a small area of our system, this was immediately isolated from the network and work is ongoing to cleanse and repair that area.
“There is no evidence that patient data has been compromised.”
He added that as a precautionary measure a comprehensive programme of diagnostics and preventative work was being carried out to protect NHS Fife’s systems from ransomware damage.
“Patient safety will always be our top priority and it is important to note that patient care is unaffected and our hardworking staff continue to provide normal services,” he said.
