A 61-year-old woman was left in distress after a man exposed himself to her in a Kirkcaldy woodland.
The incident happened in an area known as Middle Den, which lies between Hendry Road and Dunnikier Way, at around 2.50pm on Tuesday.
Police said after exposing himself there was a “short exchange” between the man and the victim, with the suspect leaving in the direction of Dunniker Way.
The woman contacted police and officers are now appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to get in touch urgently.
The suspect is described as a white man in his forties. He is around 6ft in height with dark hair and a dark greying beard.
He was wearing a black tammy, a long black knee-length coat and black calf-length Dr Martens-type boots.
Detective Sergeant Samantha Davidson of Kirkcaldy’s criminal investigation department said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and we are eager to trace the man involved as soon as possible.
“We will be undertaking additional patrols in the Middle Den area in order to provide community reassurance over the coming days.
“I would ask anyone who was in the Middle Den area on the afternoon of Tuesday February 13 and has information that can assist us, to get in touch with us at their earliest convenience.”
