Police in Fife are looking to trace the driver of a dark coloured hatchback who may have witnessed a crash that claimed the life of a 30-week-old baby.
Investigators believe the vehicle was on the B9157 Orrock Quarry Road near Kirkcaldy when the horror accident took place on October 3.
A Transit van and a Seat Leon collided at around 10.20pm, leaving all four occupants of the car injured including heavily pregnant 18-year-old Shannon Myers.
The teenager, from Portobello, was rushed to the Victoria Hospital serious neck and abdomen injuries prompting medics performed an emergency caesarean.
But Little Luke Aubury passed away a short time later and his funeral was held on October 17 following a fundraising appeal by his devastated relatives.
The driver and two passengers in the Transit van were also treated for minor injuries following the late night crash.
Road policing officers have now identified a car which they believe is a Citroen C1 or similar type vehicle that may have been in the area at the time.
Sergeant Stephen Quinn said: “As part of our ongoing investigation, we continue to provide the young mother and her family with all the necessary support they require, while at the same time working to establish exactly what happened during this incident.
“Our inquiries have revealed that a car, believed to be a Citroen C1, was on the road around the time of the collision and may have witnessed what happened.
“This individual, or any passengers within the vehicle, are asked to contact police immediately.

“I’d like to stress, this car did nothing wrong and we simply wish to speak with the occupants to assist with the investigation.
“Similarly, anyone with any other relevant information is also asked to come forward.”
