Much loved Perthshire cancer campaigner Fi Munro has died.

Fi died last week after stopping treatment for the stage four ovarian cancer which had spread throughout her body.

Hundreds of tributes have poured in from people around the country who have been following her journey.

Award-winning author and researcher Fi, from the Carse of Gowrie, stopped treatment at the end of June.

Husband Ewan released a statement on Fi’s social media page asking people who have followed her journey to immortalise her spirit through random acts of kindness.

He said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must tell you that my beautiful Fi has left us. She passed peacefully on the July 7 surrounded by the enormous love of her family.

“She has been such a huge inspiration to all those around her, filling the space with love, compassion, fun… and a little bit of swearing!

“I know she has been an incredible support to all of you out there who follow her Instagram, Facebook and blog and she leaves a huge hole in all our hearts.

“I hope that wherever she is that she gets her wish, to be reunited with friends and family lost, and to have the most amazing time with them all.”

During her four and a half year battle with the illness, Fi helped inspire others to raise thousands for cancer support charities through her spontaneous goodwill gestures.
