Crisis-hit McEwens of Perth has closed its doors for the last time.
The city centre department store shut after nearly 150 years of trading on Friday afternoon.
A notice posted by staff in the front window said: “This store is now closed.
“The management and staff wish to thank all our customers for your custom and support over many years.”
The business went into administration in March, triggering a debate over the future of the city centre.
Local shopkeepers have called for extra support to protect their businesses and bring fresh life into the precinct.
Administrators KPMG have declined to comment on continuing attempts to sell off the St John Street property, as well as the separate homeware department.
However, The Courier understands that there has been interest the buildings and talks are ongoing about transforming the site into a mall-style complex with several shops inside.
Business owners have been invited to a seminar to discuss a way forward for the city centre. The meeting at the Royal George Hotel, from 5.30pm on Monday, will be hosted by SNP MP Pete Wishart and MSP John Swinney.
