A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault after a woman was found injured on a Perthshire bridge during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The victim was discovered at Dunkeld Bridge at around 1.30am on December 3 by a member of the public.
She was rushed to Ninewells Hospital where her condition has been described as “non-life threatening”.
Officers spent 13 hours at the scene of the alleged assault on Tuesday after the victim was found with mysterious injuries sparking a major investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault of a woman at Dunkeld Bridge.
“The incident happened at around 1.30am.
“The woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing”.
