The team behind a rejected housing development in rural Kinross-shire have appealed the decision with the Scottish Government.
Plans for 10 homes at Crook of Devon were knocked back by Perth and Kinross Council’s planning and development management committee in June.
The plans, which had received half a dozen objections from neighbours and Kinross-shire Civic Trust, were first submitted in October 2019 by Shand Architecture.
Concerns were raised about the expected impact on the surrounding area and lack of affordable homes, prompting councillors to label the submission “the wrong development in the wrong place.” Issues were also raised over visibility for drivers.
The applicants have taken the decision to Scotland’s highest level of appeal, noting there were no environmental objections other than from voting members and arguing the project should be given the green light.
Reporters from the Scottish Government’s planning and environmental appeals division (DPEA) will scrutinise the committee’s verdict before reaching a decision.
