English songstress Pixie Lott will play the main stage at the event in the city centre on Saturday, November 17.

X-Factor star James Arthur will also perform at the switch-on, as will Tayside tribute band Last Orders.

Britain’s Got More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern will host the main stage throughout the day.

A special fun day will take place around the free Christmas event, starting at noon.

Three stages will be set up to host a range of singing, dancing and festive shows across Tay Street, King Edward Street and Horsecross Plaza.

The Ex Men All Stars Band will also play on the Saturday.

Perth’s Chocolate and Gin Street Fest and the Perth Christmas Market will run all day, while there will also be a children’s performance stage, a Santa’s grotto, ice caves and live ice sculpting.

Perth and Kinross Council leader Murray Lyle said: “Pixie Lott and James Arthur will help to bring the party soundtrack to Perth for the biggest Christmas party around.

“There really is something for everyone in Perth, so come and join us for the biggest Christmas party that you can’t afford to miss.”
